In many primary schools, they won't let the child leave the gate unless they have this signed permission.

学校側には放課後や下校時の安全管理責任（Aufsichtspflicht）があるため、保護者の署名入りの「単独下校許可書」が提出されていない限り、児童が一人で校門を出ることを禁止している小学校が多い。
