What is the IHK final exam like?

It consists of a written part and a practical or oral part. If you pass, you are officially a skilled worker (Geselle or Fachkraft).
Tips
Take the Zwischenprüfung (mid-term exam) seriously; it's the best mock test for the final. Buy old exam papers (Prüfungskatalog) to practice.

実技試験（Praktische Prüfung）や口頭試験は、各業界団体（IHK/HWK）から派遣された複数の試験官の立ち会いのもと、厳格な時間管理と評価シートに沿って実施される。この試験に合格して資格（Geselle等）を取得しない限り、専門職としての雇用契約への移行や労働ビザの要件を満たすことができない。
